The water quality is not so good. The climate in the subtropics and the many hours of operation also take their toll on the evaporative cooling system. Despite chemical treatment of the water, the evaporative cooling panels tend to have heavy scale deposits. Deposits reduced cooling capacity, required frequent cleaning, and shortened equipment lifespan.

One Merus ring was installed in the circulation line after the pump with no other system modifications.

→Existing encrustation became soft and easier to remove. Deposits in panel filling decreased. Metal corrosion significantly reduced. Deposits of more than 1mm disappeared during the trial. Remaining deposits became water-soaked and soft. Cooling faster
→temperature sensors met specifications. Cleaning times reduced to less than half. Maintenance needs reduced to less than half. Fewer evaporative panels require yearly replacement. Chemical treatment costs eliminated. Reduced water consumption and pump energy use.
