De uitdaging
A lot of scale and fouling was formed inside the heat exchangers, requiring cleaning every 3 months for compressor cooling and every 6 months for the vessel jackets. Algae could be found at the cooling tower despite the use of an RO system.
De Merus-oplossing
Three Merus Rings were installed to treat the entire cooling water system: one ahead of the cooling tower, one ahead of the compressor heat exchanger, and one at the vessel jacket inlet.
Resultaten
→Scale was almost totally gone after 3 months with no extensive cleaning needed. This heat exchanger is now stable for more than 5 years. Algae was eliminated and no additional chemicals were required. ROI of this installation was about 2 months. The customer discontinued the RO system and now uses bore well water directly.
