Limescale in the urban water supply

Chrissoupolis in Greece had very hard water over 30 dH clogging its supply pipes. Four months after installing a Merus Ring the deposits had vanished and water pressure was satisfying everywhere.

De uitdaging

The village experienced especially hard water, often more than 30 dH. Limescale accumulated in pipes, reducing their diameter and preventing adequate water distribution. Not all houses in the village could get sufficient water due to insufficient pumping capacity and low pressure at certain locations. Pipe cleaning was financially unfeasible and blocked pipes required replacement.

De Merus-oplossing

Installation of a Merus Ring on a main pipe serving large portions of the city during a trial phase.

Four months after installing the Merus Ring the pipe was cleaned of deposits. The deposits had vanished and the smooth surface was visible. Stable water pressure was achieved, corrosion ceased, and the volume and pressure of the water is satisfying in all areas of the village.
