Seawater used directly offshore contains high salt and calcium carbonate levels, causing limescale, corrosion, fouling and biological growth in the systems. This resulted in frequent shutdowns and high maintenance costs, always linked to production loss.
De Merus-oplossing
Installation of Merus Rings at multiple points: one at the main suction header, plus additional units ahead of critical machinery and process steps throughout the piping system.
Resultaten
→Significant deposit reduction was confirmed within weeks and cooling and heating efficiency stabilized after installation. After three months, rust and corrosion were gone or reduced significantly, there was no brown water at the crew showers, and there were zero water-related shutdowns post-installation. ROI was achieved in less than 6 months.
