The temperature in the boiler has to be at least 60 degrees Celsius, to avoid a possible growth of legionella in the water system. Low flow rates during off-peak hours caused high tendency of furring up on heating coils. Raw water received no chemical treatment. Cleaning reduced to water hose flushing instead of chemical treatment. One millimeter of limescale at the surface of the heating bundle reduces the heat transfer by 14%.
