Wyzwanie
The cooling loop for PET bottle moulds required cleaning every two weeks due to corrosion and rust accumulation caused by continuous water addition introducing limescale and free oxygen into the closed system. The dirt did consist of corrosion and rust more than limescale due to high oxygen content, threatening bottle quality.
Rozwiązanie Merus
Installed one Merus Ring in the cooling loop positioned between the heat exchanger and moulds to reduce corrosion at the point of greatest impact.
Wyniki
→Iron content in water samples decreased day by day after installation. No new rust or limescale formed visually post-installation. Since the Merus Rings have been installed no special chemical cleaning of the moulds was necessary, eliminating downtime and improving production quality and volume.
