A retirement home with three buildings and approximately 300 apartments detected increased legionella concentration during routine water control. The facility had previously attempted thermal disinfection without sustained success. That approach was costly, time-consuming, and required shutting down sanitary facilities, which is problematic in a healthcare setting.
Rozwiązanie Merus
Merus installed Merus Rings at the main water line across the three buildings, the return line to the hot tank, and additional critical pipe locations to eliminate the contamination risk.
Wyniki
→CFU values decreased approximately 80% immediately after installation. Within months, levels dropped below 5,000 cfu/l. After six months to one year, most areas reached under 1,000 cfu/l, the public health requirement. After 10 years, the facility remained legionella-free.
