This reduced heating efficiency, requiring chemical cleaning with 4% hydrochloric acid 3-4 times annually. The acid treatment damaged tubes, necessitating replacement of approximately 70% of solar tubes yearly at a cost of around 3,500 USD plus labor expenses.

Installation of a Merus ring on the common feed line supplying the solar water heating system to reduce lime deposit formation.
Résultats
→Within 30 days, 85% of the solar collectors were completely clean, with the remaining 15% showing only slight scale removable by hand. Water temperature increased by an average of 5 degrees Celsius. The system operates continuously without requiring chemical cleaning or regular tube replacement. Return on investment was achieved in less than one year.
