The challenge
Vacuum pumps at a very big heavy industry plant in China experience severe scaling and fouling when processing liquids containing calcium carbonate or scale-forming minerals. The vacuum removes gases like CO2 from the water, the pH changes and the risk of scaling gets higher. Regular maintenance requiring complete disassembly and cleaning (mechanical or chemical) causes production shutdowns lasting several hours and risks surface damage leading to corrosion.

Installation of a Merus Ring device to prevent fouling formation and maintain system stability.
Results
→Within one month there were visible improvements in pump cleanliness. After two months the pump was restored to near-original condition and vacuum stability increased noticeably. Unplanned shutdowns were eliminated and the pump has been operating for years without problems with only routine inspections.
