The farm previously relied on chemical treatment with mainly sodium hypochlorite or copper sulfate costing between 1,000 and 1,800 EURO per month. Baseline contamination exceeded 2 Million CFU / 100 ml, while regulations required less than 1000 CFU / 100 ml.
