The challenge
Despite high-quality stainless steel piping and chemical water treatment, the building experienced corrosion issues. Slightly brownish water on the washbasins appeared first, followed by pitting corrosion almost exclusively in horizontally laid pipes. The facility required replacement of corroded pipe sections approximately every two months. The property receives redundant water supply from two different sources; when mixed, this water became aggressive and corrosive. Many units also remained unoccupied seasonally, allowing stagnant water to remain in pipes for extended periods and enabling rust formation.
The Merus solution
Installation of Merus rings at the two main water inlets and within the hot water circulation system.
Results
→Today, the water system is free of problems caused by corrosion or pitting.
